Duties and Responsibilities

 

This is the entry and training for plant operators, a candidate at this level will work under the guidance of a designated supervisor. Duties and responsibilities will entail:

       i.         Operating machines of ‘difficult rating’;

     ii.         Assisting machine attendants in identifying possible breakdown,

    iii.         Liaising with mechanics for servicing,

    iv.         Making daily and weekly oil checks, and

     v.         Maintaining the cleanliness of the plants.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

       i.         Plant Operator Certificate from Kenya Institute of Highway &Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution;

     ii.         Passed the Suitability Test for Plant Operators grade III

    iii.         Valid and current driving license;

    iv.         Be able to operate at least two (2) plants of ‘difficult rating’;

     v.         Attended a first-aid course lasing not less than one (1) week from St. john ambulance of Kenya Institute of Highway And Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution; and

    vi.         Proficiency in computer applications.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to Produce originals of their National identity Cards, academic and professional certificates, and transcripts during interviews. Candidates with foreign Qualifications should get clearance from the Commission for University Education (CUE). It is a criminal offence to present fake certificates/documents.

Note: Successful Candidates:

Successful candidates will be required to obtain the following documents and present them to the Machakos County Public Service Board: -

·            Tax compliance certificate from KRA

·            Clearance certificate from HELB

·            Clearance certificate from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)

·            Certificate of good conduct (DCI)

·            Credit Reference Bureau Clearance
