Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade into this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a designated supervisor.
Duties and responsibilities entail:
I. Collecting and collating data relating to roads infrastructure assets arid road works;
II. Participating in inspections of road projects:
III. Taking part in conducting site investigation:
IV. Taking part in locating suitable materials for roads works:
V. Preparing and maintaining daily inspection reports;
VI. Taking part in materials testing and quality control, and
VII. Preparing daily inspection reports.
Requirements for Appointment
I. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering. or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution:
II. Proficiency in computer proficiency; and
III. Registered by Kenya Engineering Technology Registration (KETRB)as a Candidate Engineering Technician.

Candidates with foreign Qualifications should get clearance from the Commission for University Education (CUE). It is a criminal offence to present fake certificates/documents.
Note: Successful Candidates:
Successful candidates will be required to obtain the following documents and present them to the Machakos County Public Service Board: -
· Tax compliance certificate from KRA
· Clearance certificate from HELB
· Clearance certificate from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
· Certificate of good conduct (DCI)
· Credit Reference Bureau Clearance
